Research, Development and Technology: Genetic Improvement

Our Genetic Improvement program aims to find superior genetic materials to create clones that will grow and develop efficiently, capture CO₂ (carbon) in an accelerated manner, and be resistant to pests and diseases. This approach guarantees the sustainability of our project in the short, medium and long term.

Productive potential

Through our clones, we seek to maximize performance and adaptability of each individual to different soil types. The key to achieving this is the clonal designation: we plant each clone in the type of soil where, through various trials, we have identified that they can express their highest productivity. This strategy maximizes the specific characteristics of each clone and the soil in which it is planted, thereby achieving the highest productive potential.

Efficiency in CO₂ capture

Our clones are highly efficient in CO₂ capture due to their quickly growth and physiology, which allows them to absorb CO₂ and transform it into O₂ (oxygen) in an accelerated way. This process is enhanced by the Vichada environment, which provides abundant light and humidity for most of the year.

The importance of soil adaptation

The adaptation of our clones to different soil types in the region has allowed the recovery of historically degraded savannas, optimizing the use of available areas and promoting significant ecological benefits such as increased biodiversity. By introducing species that effectively adapt to the land conditions, we contribute to environmental restoration and the sustainable development of the region.

Advances in the future of Plant Breeding

We will continue developing eucalyptus clones and, additionally, emphasizing fast-growing native species with high CO₂ capture efficiency. We are also continuing to seek new and better production technologies both in nurseries and in the field for native species, always maintaining a sustainable vision in the short, medium, and long term.
